About Culebra

Culebra is the smaller, less-developed of Puerto Rico's two main offshore islands. It's a 45-minute ferry from Ceiba. Flamenco Beach, on the north shore, is regularly ranked among the world's top beaches — soft white sand, shallow turquoise water, and an old WWII tank rusting into the sand near the east end (a leftover from when the island was a U.S. Navy bombing range, like Vieques).

Tamarindo Beach (south shore) is the snorkeling pick — clear water, sea turtles, and a healthy reef close to shore. Most Culebra tours we work with are catamaran or pontoon day-trips that hit Flamenco + Tamarindo + Cayo Luis Peña or Culebrita (the small island just east). Day-trippers from the main island typically have 4 hours on Culebra after the ferry round-trip; if you have a 3-day window, staying overnight in town (Dewey/Pueblo) lets you cover more.
